I have loved everything about Maira Kalman ever since I was a little kid and my mom started reading me her books. The illustrations are crazy, and frankly a little bit scary because they all have a very warped sense of perspective. Not only do her books have wild illustrations, but they also use mostly hand written typography - which I am mildy obsessed with. Maira is also the late wife of the unbelievably talented graphic designer, Tibor Kalman.
I really would just love to be her. She is an unbelievably creative mind, and seems to not be afraid of anything. She is risky and fabulous.
